Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the Veil app and website (together, "Veil") collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Veil is operated by Martinson Sales Consulting Corp ("we", "us"). If you have questions, email support@veil-privacy.app.

We do not sell your personal information.

Information we collect

Information you give us

Account information, such as your email address.
Information you ask us to search for and remove, such as your name, email addresses, phone numbers, and current and past addresses. We need these details to find your listings on people-search sites and to send removal requests.
Messages you send us, such as support emails.

Information created when you use Veil

Scan and removal results, such as which sites list you and the status of each removal request.
Private number activity. If you use a private number, we process the phone numbers of people who call or text it, the times of those calls and texts, the content of texts we forward to you, and voicemail recordings, so that we can deliver them to you.
Spam blocking. If you turn on spam call blocking, Veil checks the phone numbers of incoming calls to your real phone to decide whether to block them.
Subscription status, such as whether your subscription is active. Payments are handled by Google Play. We do not receive your full card number.
Basic technical information, such as app version and device type, used to keep Veil working and secure.

VPN

If you use the VPN, your internet traffic passes through our VPN service so it is encrypted between your device and the VPN server. We do not record the websites you visit or the content of your traffic.

How we use information

To provide Veil's features: scanning, removal requests, spam blocking, private numbers, voicemail, text forwarding, and the VPN.
To manage your account and subscription.
To respond to your requests and provide support.
To protect Veil and its users from fraud and abuse, and to meet legal obligations.

Who we share information with

We share information only as needed to run Veil:

People-search sites and data brokers. To request removal of your listings, we send them the details needed to identify your records.
Service providers that host and operate Veil for us, including cloud hosting and database providers, our telephone and text provider (for private numbers, voicemail, and text forwarding), Have I Been Pwned (to check your email address against known breaches), Google Play and our subscription management provider (for billing), and removal service partners. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users or others.
Business transfers. If our business is sold or merged, your information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.

Text messaging

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

Veil sends texts only when you turn on text forwarding for your private number. Forwarded texts are messages that other people send to your private number. Reply STOP to stop receiving them, or HELP for help. You can also turn forwarding off in the app. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies.

How long we keep information

We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep some of it to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or prevent fraud.

Deleting your account

To delete your account and the personal information associated with it, email support@veil-privacy.app from the email address on your account. Cancelling your subscription in Google Play does not delete your account.

Your choices and rights

You can turn each Veil feature on or off in the app. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain uses of it. To make a request, email support@veil-privacy.app. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Security

We use encryption to protect information in transit and limit access to the people and providers who need it to run Veil. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Veil is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. If the changes are significant, we will notify you in the app or by email.
